The question of what do I do with my weekends now has entered my mind. The road season is over, and since this will be my first ever cross season I really don't know what to expect. I enjoy planning my weekend around races. But at the same time getting my ride done early and hanging with the family is real nice too.
Well I didn't race this weekend (GFTL is just too short to make the trip. I wish I had a track bike and not just a converted fixed gear), so my season ended last week. Did the Saturday morning ride, pushed hard but felt crappy. Road with Tim Shockley on Sunday. We took our cross bikes to Ipswich. Crashed twice.
Crash one: My cross bike's front end shakes when I ride the front brake a lot. I was going down hill on the brakes and the shake distracted me and I wasn't quite lined up with the narrow bridge.
Crash two: Wasn't paying attention. Talking to Tim and approaching a log. Bunny hopped too early. You get the point.
So that was pretty much my weekend. That and High School Musical 2 has been on my TV Since Friday night (those with kids probably know what I'm talking about).
I also discovered a talent of my two year old daughter. She farts on command. That's right. Madelyn can you toot? And she does. That's talent.
I have also started our teams 2008 sponsorship search. I kind of like doing that. So that's what I have been up to. See everyone on the road. Ride safe.

Now is the time to take care of all those honey do's we've been putting off. It's home improvement/project time.
High School Musical one and two! Finally someone I know, knows!!! Thats all we've been watching since they came out.The soundtracks are in the car also...
Good luck on the sponsorship hunt!
We're all in this together, fellas.
High School Musical-palooza here.
Sounds like rough ride for you at Ipswitch. I've ridden my cross bike there; it's fun. That brake grab is something I have too with cantis whe I hit them hard.
I'm glad I'm not the only one in this High School Musical thing. When I ride the songs play in my head. That is part of the fault of my wife who is a bigger fan of the movies than my daughters. Go Wildcats!
Toe-in the leading edge of the pad to reduce the shudder/vibration from the carbon fork. That's from what I read and seems to be a popular problem with cantis/carbon fork combos.
I usually hit Oak Grove park to do some fast laps around the lake (1.5 miles). When it gets a little chillier, come on out to the Thursday night AAB Mountainbike/Cross ride. Sometimes it gets a little Crazy. (Photo courtesy of Kevin)
Albe,
What time on Thursdays and when does that start.
It's a standing Mtn bike Thursday ride @ 730 out of the AAB Chesapeake shop. In the fall/winter, the ride gets invaded by the local cx crew and the once slow/multi regroup summertime mountainbike ride turns into a cx hammerfest. As the weather turns colder, the cx riders will start to come out. I'll keep you posted on when the rides starts to transition over to cross.
